The Hungarian Geographical Society held its 79th Annual Field Meeting and 150th General Assembly at the Institute of Earth Sciences of the University of Debrecen in July 2026.

As part of the professional programme, on 5 July 2026 participants visited one of the flagship facilities of the Civaqua I Project, the Vezér Street Reservoir. During the visit, they were introduced to the operation of Green Sentinel, the Debrecen Environmental Monitoring System, at our monitoring station located next to the reservoir.

The presentation provided an overview of the monitoring network, the instrumentation, the online and field sampling procedures, as well as the work of the scientific research teams. The professional visit offered an excellent opportunity to bring together geographical expertise, collaborative thinking, and a shared commitment to environmental protection in a practical setting.
